StoreProtect – Protection for your goods in store
- Do I need to arrange protection for my goods in storage?
-
When storing with Storebox, we require all customers to arrange contents cover for their goods. We are able to protect your goods under the StoreProtect solution we have in place with the self storage industry specialist brokers, Basil Fry & Company. With StoreProtect, we will accept liability for any damage to your goods up the value you have selected during the booking process.
We understand you may already have arranged your own insurance that covers external storage. If you choose to use your own insurance, we will need to see proof of this cover within 7 days of storing with us.
- How much is StoreProtect?
-
Our StoreProtect charges will be based on the maximum replacement value of your goods but we offer four different options with StoreProtect which are:
- Up to £4,000 value of goods is £3.99 per week
- Up to £8,000 value of goods is £5.99 per week
- Up to £12,000 value of goods is £8.99 per week
- Up to £25,000 value of goods £10.99 per week
Please note that when booking through our website, if the value of your goods exceeds £12,000 you will need to contact the office via phone on 0333 016 2185 or email at [email protected] for further assistance.
When choosing StoreProtect, it is really important that you declare the most accurate value of your goods as possible so that, in the unlikely event of a claim, everyone involved knows that the claim will be resolved successfully. Goods will be repaired or replaced on a ‘new for old’ basis of settlement so the value should be calculated on this basis.
- What if I have my own insurance?
-
We understand you may already have arranged your own insurance that covers external storage. If you choose to use your own insurance, we will need to see proof of this cover within 7 days of storing with us.
Bear in mind, if you choose to use your own insurance, the excess you will pay is likely to be high and any large claim may affect your future premiums. By letting us take the risk, you avoid any factors that may affect your own policy.
- If I update my maximum replacement value, will there be an additional charge?
-
We understand that the value of your items in storage may change from time to time. It is important that the value of your goods you have declared to us remains up to date. As such, we ask that you update us via the Online Check In form (https://secure.storebox.co.uk/onlinecheckin/) or by email at [email protected]. This will then be updated on your account.
The price will be amended accordingly, and you will be notified of the change.
- Where can I see details of the StoreProtect agreement?
